Dr Somayeh Mahintorabi: Generalist Psychologist & Clinical Psychologist Registrar

Somayeh is an Iranian registered Psychologist in NSW and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society. She has extensive mental health experience in the community and has predominately worked with clients from culturally diverse backgrounds in private practice since 2011. She speaks English, Farsi, and understands Dari as well. Her formal qualifications include a Bachelor in Clinical Psychology from Ferowsi University of Mashahd Iran, a Master of psychology from Guilan University of Iran and a PhD in Behavioural studies in Health Science from the University of Sydney. She is currently also completing her Master of Clinical Psychology at Charles Stuart Univeristy. Somayeh sees clients through Medicare, Workcover/CTP, International Health and Medical services (IHMS) and Life Without Barriers. Somayeh's main methods of treatment are in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Reality Therapy.

Maria Hamidi: Generalist Psychologist

Maria is a Generalist Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. Maria has over 7 years experience providing assessments and therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Maria completed a Bachelor of Psychology (honours) at Macquarie University and a Diploma of Psychological Practice through the College of Professional Psychology. She has also completed advanced training in Counselling skills, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution Focussed Brief Therapy. Maria is passionate about providing interactive and tailored treatments that teach practical skills and build flexibility in thinking. Maria has a special interest working with anxiety, addictions, low self-esteem, depression, grief, trauma, and adjustment disorders. She is also highly skilled in administering and reporting on a range of psychometric and diagnostic assessments. Maria works with clients who are referred through Medicare, Workcover/CTP, NDIS, Work Development Order, and International Health & Medical services.

Derya Ozturk: Generalist Psychologist

Derya is a generalist Psychologist who has over 10 years working experience within community mental health and a diverse range of experience. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and has worked in both private and public mental health care settings and provides both individual and group based interventions. Derya works closely with her clients both adolescents and adults who have depression, anxiety, personality disorders, those who are at risk of developing psychosis or those who have psychotic illnesses such as Schizophrenia. Her main methods of treatment are in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Short-Term Dynamic Interpersonal Psychotherapy (STDIP). An area of interest that Derya has is treating clients who experience complex trauma in their lives that may include emotional, physical or sexual abuse, neglect, abandonment, interpersonal and relational trauma, specifically within the culturally and linguistically diverse community.

Hansen Li: Generalist Psychologist

Hansen is a passionate, friendly and approachable male psychologist as well as an Applied Behaviour Analysis therapist. He is strongly committed to providing the best care to clients through the provision of evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Behaviour Therapy, Management Training and Solution Focused Therapy. Hansen has gained extensive experience in working with children, adolescents and adults with various presentations such as: Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHS), Intellectual Disability, Down Syndrome, anxiety, depression, stress, and chronic pain. He is passionate about pain psychology and Paediatrics and has exceptional skills in these areas. Hansen is highly trained in administering psychological assessments such as cognitive, behavioural, learning, memory, as well as risk assessments. He continues to offer services for patients through Medicare, DVA, NDIS, and Workcover/CPT.

Amanda Nassif: Generalist Psychologist

Amanda is a dedicated and passionate general psychologist who has worked in private practice across her career. She is a Bilingual Arabic speaking clinician who has a considerable amount of experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) clients and their families. She works holistically and is devoted to helping clients live proactive and value based lives. Her vision is to reach out to and promote mental-wellness through compassionate response, high quality consultancy and best practice.

Kaney Molan: Receptionist

Kaney is a young and vibrant receptionist who joined our team at the start of 2018. Kaney speaks English and Kurdish and highly enjoys communicating with our clients and creating a positive atmosphere. She values her role at Psychresponse and believes it has provided her with exposure to a variety of clients, this is particularly important as she is currently studying a Bachelor of Psychology and endeavours to work in private practice as a psychologist in the future. She is passionate, determined and focused on providing a high quality service and ensuring that PsychResponse clients have their inquiries responded to.

Fatema Sarvari: Receptionist

Fatema has been part of the PsychResponse team for over a year. She has extensive experience working with adolescents in the community and has worked in various administrative roles. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Psychology and has plans to work as a Clinical Psychologist in the future. Fatema speaks English, Persian and Dari and through this endeavours to create a positive environment for our clients at all times by being highly enthusiastic, passionate, ethical and empathic. She has the attitude of 'no task is too great or too small" and will therefore go above and beyond to help and accommodate our clients needs.
